Ways to Register

Go to mplscommunityed.com. We accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa and checking account numbers.

Credit card payments are accepted by phone during business hours. Please call the coordinator listed under Locations and Contact Information.

Accommodations & Accessibility
Please indicate on your registration form or when you call any accommodations needed to effectively participate in the class for which you wish to register. Examples of accommodations include, but are not limited to:
  • Sign language interpreter
  • Accessible classroom location
  • Alternate format registration materials 
  • Alternate format class materials 
  • Dietary restrictions (Refreshments are served in some classes) 

Please register at least two weeks in advance of a class, to allow for arrangement of accommodations.

    Discounts 

    To receive a discount on a class, call the site offering the class. If you are 62 or older, receive Social Security Assistance, Unemployment Compensation, or MFIP, you can receive a 25% discount on many classes. Discounts are not given on material fees and are not applicable to recreational trips and tours and Access Services classes. 

      UCare Discounts
      UCare members may be eligible for up to a $15 discount on most classes. You must have UCare insurance and include your UCare ID when registering. You must call in registration with your UCare ID. Some restrictions may apply.

      UCare Medicare members are entitled for three $15 discounts per calendar year. UCare Individual and Family plan members are eligible for three $15 discounts per calendar year. Minnesota Health Care Program members with UCare are eligible for an unlimited number of $15 per class discounts.

      Refunds

      Refunds (minus a $5 processing fee) are given if you call and cancel at least three business days before a class. Full refunds are given if we cancel a class.

      Safety Disclaimer
      There is an inherent risk of accident and injury in any activity. It is the responsibility of the participant to be aware that there are assumed risks in participation. Minneapolis Public Schools (SSD #1) assumes no responsibility for injuries received during activities. Any changes in participant's activity level should be done under the approval and direction of their physician or health care provider. 

      Weather Policy 
      In-person classes may be closed in inclement weather. If you have questions about closings, please call the class site location or visit mpls.k12.mn.us.

      Can only Minneapolis residents take our classes?

      Youth classes are aimed at the schools that they serve, but youth in the appropriate grades who can get to the program are welcome. Most adult programs are open to anyone, with Access services designed for adults with developmental disabilities and Lifelong Learning daytime classes for adults ages 55 plus.
